Through powerful visuals and narrative, viewers will get a glimpse of the struggles and insecurities I had to overcome as a woman of color trying to conform to white beauty ideals. The concept of my video is to describe and visualize the specific struggles I had/have as a Black/Latina woman and display that I have reached self-acceptance. I made this concept visual by video recording my body and highlighting specific features that I was once insecure about. Through these visuals, I am translating the emotions of: insecurity and self-acceptance. In addition, incorporate a raw narrative of thoughts that one would only find in a diary. Words that purposely make myself vulnerable.
