STEREOTYPES KILL

Found Hats, Spray Paint

2018 - Present

STEREOTYPES KILL is an ongoing project focussed on bringing awareness to the issue of police brutality in the United States while highlighting the Black Lives Matter Movement. The project was created in response to police killings and the amount of discrimination/racial profiling that people of color continue to face. For the project, used hats are modified to replicate a gunshot wound and then placed in public spaces/high traffic areas for passerby's to see, read, or even take with them. The hats displayed are a few out of the many hats that exist within the world, standing as a reminder of the hundreds of lives that are lost due to these careless acts of violence.
